Bust out the Google if you aren't familiar with the cuisine, but also understand that you really can't go wrong. I ordered the salmon and ugali, unfortunately they were out of ugali so we subbed rice. Also ordered the lamb and rice as well as the maharagwe with chapati. Everything was so delicious, the salmon was over cooked but the hot sauce they give you brightens everything up nicely. The lamb was so tender and juicy, again the hot sauce cuts through the richness and the rice is beautifully. The taste of all of the food here can be described as home-made, no skimping on seasoning, everything has flavor. Atmosphere feels very communal, as I waited for my to-go order there were folks coming in and out, saying hi, greeting the staff, and all hanging out together. It was almost empty when I came in, and within 5 minutes the place was alive. Give these folks a try! Also, adding pictures of the menu because the ones online are terrible resolution. You won't be disappointed.

We were drawn in by the delicious smells wafting down the block. A kindly customer ushered us in and gave us advice on what to try. The sambusas were excellent, pleasing both adults and kids alike. Can't wait to try everything on the menu! Will definitely be back.

The person behind the counter was super friendly and helpful. We didn't know what to order and asked for recommendations. They were out of chapati and injera and suggested we get the chicken and lamb with rice. Both meats were well spiced and tender. The rice was so good! They gave us complimentary bananas with our order. We will definitely be back.
